Sit “N” Bull Saloon & Eatery
The Original “New Memphis House”
It is believed that the house was built in the 1820’s though there is no record of an exact date. It was built as a saloon/boarding house for weary travelers and their horses to rest as they traveled on the old Vincennes trail that ran from Vincennes, IN to St. Louis, MO. It has always been a place where you could wet your whistle and fill your belly in the company of friendly people.
In the 1970’s a pole barn was built next to the original building and used for dances and storage. In September 2005, Stan & Kathy Denton saw the size of the pole barn and decided to purchase what was then the Ford Brothers Tavern from Fred Ford.
The old pole barn was then renovated into the “Sit “N” Bull Saloon & Eatery” which has been serving thousands of satisfied customers of the surrounding community for well over a decade.
